The Life You Were Meant to Live

There are all sorts of ways the struggles with your body impact your life.  They rob you of your time and energy.  They affect your intimate relationships.  They have costs you lots of money.  They have gotten in the way of your social life. You have suffered, time and again.  However the saddest of all, is the fact that they have gotten in the way of the life you were meant to live.

I’m not talking about you living a life you are satisfied with, but rather a life that is unabashedly FULLFILLING.  A life that makes you feel alive with possibilities every day.  A life that effects the world- in your own unique way.  A life lived in alignment with your values, your authentic self in the present moment.

It’s all well and good to be motivated to change the relationship with your body for the sake of your physical health.  Living a long life, being physically functional and disease and symptom free is important.

It’s a worth while cause to be motivated to change the relationship with you body for the sake of your emotional wellness.  Feeling peaceful, at ease and content is important.

But imagine this; what would it be like to be motivated to change the relationship with your body for the sake of the life you were meant to live?  Letting your light shine, sharing your gifts and talents and impacting the world isn’t important.... it is essential to the very essence of your being, to the core of your soul, to the heart of your authentic self.

THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR YOU to arrive, to show up fully in your life-- but you won’t be able to do this while being at war with your body.  You may not be able to call cease fire in this very moment, but you can choose, RIGHT NOW that you are committed to change the relationship with your body for the sake of the life you were meant to live, for the sake of how that life will undoubtedly impact those it touches.

Geneen Roth says, “What you most want to get rid of is itself the doorway to what you want most.”  What could you possibly want more than a life of total fulfillment? Committing to that life is seeing that door and stepping up to it.  Opening the door and walking through maybe another story, but it’s a lot more likely that you will go though it if you can see the door and have a damn good reason to walk thorugh to the other side that’s full of unknowns.

If the Life You Were Meant to Live was on the other side of a doorway, how committed would you be to walking through it?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
